Pleasure & Comfort Support

Because comfort, desire, and joy are part of your health

Pleasure is not extra—and pain during sex is not something you have to accept.

At Kyndred, we provide sexual wellness care that treats comfort, desire, and autonomy as real health outcomes, especially for Black women who are too often told to “just deal with it.”

We create space to talk about what’s working, what’s not, and what support could look like—without judgment, assumptions, or shame. Whether you’re naming a concern for the first time or circling back to something you’ve been dismissed about for years, you deserve care that believes you.

Is This for You?

This visit is a good place to start if you

If you feel confused, frustrated, or even a little embarrassed to bring this up—that’s exactly why this visit exists.

  • Have pain with sex (with penetration, around orgasm, or afterward), vaginal dryness, burning, or pelvic discomfort and you’re tired of being told “everything looks normal.”

  • Notice changes in desire—feeling “checked out,” low libido, or wanting sex less or differently than you used to—and want to understand why.

  • Feel disconnected from pleasure after a big life shift (new baby, loss, stress, perimenopause, trauma, break‑up, new meds like SSRIs).

  • Struggle with arousal or orgasm, have trouble “getting in the mood,” or feel like your mind and body are not on the same page.

  • Want a space to ask real questions about sex, pleasure, and your body that isn’t awkward, rushed, or moralizing.

What’s Included

  • Support for painful sex or discomfort

We take pain seriously—whether it shows up as burning, tightness, sharp pain, deep pelvic ache, or soreness after sex. Together, we explore possible contributors like pelvic floor tension, infections, hormonal changes, birth control, childbirth, or trauma and put a plan in motion instead of telling you to “relax.”

  • Care for low libido or changes in desire

Desire shifts are common, especially with stress, relationship changes, new parenting, mood shifts, or certain medications. We help you differentiate between what’s physical, hormonal, emotional, relational, or cultural—and co‑create options that align with your values and real life.

  • Conversations about arousal, pleasure, and comfort

We make space for honest conversations about what feels good, what doesn’t, and what you want more or less of. That might include lubrication, positions, communication with partners, boundaries, solo pleasure, and what it means to feel safe and present in your body.

  • Exploration of physical, hormonal, emotional, and relational factors

Your provider looks at the full picture—hormones, meds, sleep, stress, mental health, relationship dynamics, trauma history, and cultural messaging about sex and Black women’s bodies. From there, we build a personalized plan that may include medical treatment, lifestyle shifts, nervous system support, and referrals when useful.

  • Integrated referrals within the Kyndred Care Network

When helpful, we can refer you to trusted pelvic floor physical therapists, mental health and trauma‑informed providers, sex therapy, or in‑person GYN care—so you’re not left Googling alone. Your Kyndred team stays connected so your story doesn’t get lost between providers.

  • Education through our Sugar platform to support you beyond the visit

Sugar, Kyndred’s education platform, delivers bite‑sized, culturally grounded lessons on pain with sex, desire changes, arousal, body image, boundaries, and communication so you can keep learning at your own pace. These micro‑lessons help translate what you covered in the visit into real‑life shifts between appointments.

Testing may involve at-home kits (for BV, yeast, or pH) or partner labs routed in-network by your Healthcare Homegirl. We coordinate warm referrals to the Kyndred Care Network (like pelvic floor PT or GYN) if needed.

How a Visit Works

Care typically begins with a virtual visit focused on listening, education, and shared decision‑making—no pressure to reveal more than you’re ready to share.

  • Before Your Visit

Complete a brief intake about your symptoms, history, meds, stressors, and goals for your sex life—not just what’s “wrong.”

Share what feels hardest to talk about so your provider can approach gently and intentionally.

  • During Your Visit

You’ll meet with a Kyndred clinician who understands Black women’s sexual health and the impact of racism, misogyny, and shame on our bodies.

Together, you’ll name what’s happening, review possible causes, and explore options—from medical support and at‑home practices to referrals for pelvic floor or therapy—at a pace that feels respectful.

  • After Your Visit

You’ll receive a clear care plan (and Sugar support) with next steps you can actually try in real life—not a stack of vague “just relax” advice.

If in‑person or specialty care is needed, we coordinate warm referrals within the Kyndred Care Network so you’re not navigating the system alone.

How Pleasure & Comfort Support Fits into Kyndred Care

At Kyndred, sexual wellness is not an add‑on—it’s central to how we care for Black women’s whole selves.

  • We connect pleasure and comfort work with your birth control, STI care, mental health, and broader wellness so every part of your care is aligned, not siloed.

  • We also ground our approach in reproductive justice and liberation: Black women deserve safety, softness, and great sex—not just survival.
