For generations, Black women have created care for each other when the system wouldn’t. The cousin who checks in. The auntie with the remedy. The friend who insists you get seen. Kyndred honors that legacy with care that’s thoughtful, whole-person, and built for us.
A nod to Octavia Butler's Kindred. To the Kindred Southern Healing Justice Collective. To every Black woman who has carried care forward.
You've been the strong one for everyone else. Let Kyn take care of you now.
We center Black women and welcome all whose bodies and needs align with our services, including trans and gender-expansive folks.
Where to Start with Kyndred
Don't know where to start?
That's exactly what the WTF Visit is for.
WTF is going on with my body?
It's the question you've been carrying through every rushed appointment that didn't have time to answer it.
We'll Test and Figure it out. No rushing. Just real labs, real answers, and a care plan unlike any you've been given.

The reason we navigate the system differently
Meet Your Healthcare Homegirl
She's not a chatbot. Not a customer service line. She's an advocate who's been there— someone who knows what it feels like to be dismissed in a waiting room, who's seen the system up close, and who knows exactly how to push back on it for you. When the system tries to wear you down, she's the one calling the pharmacy. Chasing the referral that's been sitting on someone's desk for weeks. Sending you the article you'll actually read. Texting you back.
Because your health and healing shouldn't be another full-time job.

In Our Lineage
In the tradition of the grand midwives, root workers, conjurers, reproductive justice organizers, and Black feminist healers who built care for their people when the world refused to.
For the care architects who named something our communities have always known: that care, in its truest form, is ancestral, mutual, political, and always collective.
In the lineage of the healing justice movement, the Kindred Southern Healing Justice Collective, Kindred LA Birthspace, and all whose names we carry forward with abundant belief that Black futures are possible.
Holding Octavia E. Butler's reminder close:
"All that you touch, you change. All that you change, changes you."
This is care that demands change.
Sugar

more frequently asked questions
-
Can I use insurance?
We do not accept insurance for care visits. Insurance dictates what care looks like, including what's covered, how long a visit lasts, and which labs you can run, which limits the root-cause work we want to do for you. We provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement, and HSA/FSA work. You may be able to use your insurance for things like medications or labs if you choose, however often going direct with Kyndred gets you better negotiated rates on labs and medications, passed straight through. You can always compare!
-
Do I need a diagnosis to book?
Nope.
Most members start with symptoms, not diagnoses. -
Is this emergency care?
No. While we’re here to support your health journey, Kyndred is not a replacement for emergency services.
If you are experiencing an urgent medical or psychiatric emergency, call 911 or visit your nearest emergency department.
